Divorce Mediation
The majority of divorces end in settlement, with many people choosing to negotiate agreements about their parenting plan and finances without engaging in a heated legal battle. U.S. divorce statistics show that approximately 90% of mediated divorces end successfully.

In my role as Divorce Mediator, I will assist you in developing the skills necessary for effective communication and negotiation. I have extensive experience and training in divorce that allows me to work with clients on identifying options and reaching solutions for some of the toughest decision you will make during the divorce process:
  • What schedule is best for our children when they are living in two homes?
  • When and how do we talk to our children about divorce and the decisions we are making?
  • How do we separate our financial life?
  • Can one of us keep the marital home? What if neither of us wants it?
  • How does the lower income earner transition to having less disposable income?
  • What needs to be included in our Dissolution paperwork?
  • How and when do I introduce a new significant other to our children?

I work individually with clients to coach them through identifying their goals for the outcome of the Divorce and to create proposals for solutions in preparation for Mediation Sessions. During mediation we work from an agenda that will lead to agreements and final documents to file with the court system.

Should clients need other resources during their divorce process, such as financial education or mental health support, I can assist in providing well-trained professional resources that meet my client's needs.

Please see my web page on Coparenting Facilitation for further information on my work as a Mediator with co-parents.

Divorce Coaching

Divorce Coaching allows me to provide education and support to one individual, not the couple, as they navigate their divorce process. Usually my Coaching clients are coping with high-conflict litigation or managing a high conflict coparenting relationship after litigation. As your Coach, my role is to assist you in identifying personal goals, developing coping skills, and creating healthy boundaries. I will provide tools and skills for effective communication with your former spouse, your attorney, your children, and your Custody Investigator.

My significant experience and training working with court-involved families allows me to provide my clients with education about the divorce process which will encourage healthy decision making and a child-centered approach to settlement options. I often work directly with attorneys to create proposals and negotiate settlement options. I will also educate clients and the legal team on child development and Divorce Abuse behaviors in an effort to protect children from conflict. I seek to support my client's ability to manage stress and navigate their coparent's dysfunctional behaviors.
